Pupil Premium

The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their wealthier peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.  It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium, allocated to schools per FSM pupil, is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.

The Plan for the 2017-18 Pupil Premium can be seen below.  You can also find further information at the Department for Education link.

Rigorous assessment and tracking procedures are in place at Sledmere and Wetwang Federation which enables us to quickly identify any children who are not making the progress expected. Data analysis is robust and is available for individual, cohorts and groups of children. We are mindful of the importance of not confusing entitlement with ability as the Pupil Premium is an entitlement to ensure that all eligible children make the progress and reach the standards they are capable of.
