Our topic this half-term: What can we learn by comparing artwork from different times and cultures? 

This half-term we will work with oils, pencils, watercolours and paints to create artwork in the styles from the Impressionist and Expressionist periods. Studying the characteristics from both periods will allow us to compare and contrast the different styles, understanding why and how art developed over time. We will study the life and artwork from two famous artists – Claude Monet and Wassily Kandinsky

Throughout the half-term, we will develop skills such as creating depth, distance, light, shadow and movement before answering the question: 

Homework

Homework will be set on a Friday and should be handed in the following Friday. Spellings will also be handed out on Friday and the spellings test will take place the Friday after. Please can all pupils access TimesTables Rockstars little and often in order to improve instant recall of timetable facts.

KIRFS

Year 6 - To find equivalent FDP.

Year 5 - To know prime numbers to 19. 

Year 4 - To know multiplication and division facts for the 12 times table. 

Please can children access Timestables Rockstars three times a week. 

Reading 

Please can children read three to four times a week and have their reading record signed by an adult. Children will need to bring their reading record and reading book into school everyday.
